Teddy nodded to Molly. "It really is hard, isn't it? Love is a battlefield, to quote a Muggle." He glanced at Molly and wondered who she was under that mask, in that beautiful gown. The gown was French-cut, of that he was certain. His time with Victorie had taught him the ins and outs of quality clothing, something he had not been brought up to know, but now appreciated.
She seems to be a worthy girl for any man, Teddy thought. He looked back at his lap and grabbed some pumpkin juice. He drained the cup in one swallow and refilled it. Grinning, he said, "I love pumpkin juice." Glancing at the clock, he wondered if time had stopped altogether. He voiced this thought aloud to Molly, and added, "You're a wonderful person to talk to."

Victorie laughed a bit as she spoke, "Yes, it is. I do love that Muggle song." She smiled a bit and then gave a gentle sigh. It wasn't that love was a battle field it was the battlefield that love tried to ensue in for her. She took a deep breath and then laid a hand on the table and let her fingers run over the small tables that were there. Something seemed so farmiliar about the an before her, but then again she did work with him. She wondered who he was but everytime she did her head got all fuzzy. She looked away from him shaking her head gently.
Vic gave a gentle smile as she spoke, "Thank you. I like to think that I keep life as simple as possible." She gave him a smile and knew that the patterns seemed to farmiliar. He must be someone she talked to often. It was too easy to talk to him. She shook her head and then moved her hands to her lap and twidled her thumbs.

Teddy smiled at Molly. Not flirtatiously, but just a regular smile. "I've never heard the song. I just know the quote, although I couldn't tell you who it was by." He shook his head. This woman was entirely too easy to talk to. He must know her, but from where? Possibly they had met in the Order? They did work together, so maybe.
Teddy leaned back. "I don't have that luxury. My place in the Order keeps me hopping and very busy. I barely have time to sleep, what with working here and helping to fight the Dark Lord." He placed his hands behind his head. "But I wanted to come tonight and take a load off. It'll do me good. And I'm going to kiss my girl tonight, come hell or high water. We can just put our masks back on when we kiss."

Victorie smiled a bit as she smiled to him and then she replied, "Pat Bentar, I like Muggle music. Most think that it is insane, but I don't really care. I tend to listen to it whenever I need to be calmed." She smiled a bit as she thought about it. She always listened to Muggle music to relax her. It was something that gave her a rare and enjoyable pleasure. She really did blame Uncle Harry and her Grandfather for the trait.
Victorie watched him lean back and she had the sudden urge to be wrapped in his arms. She flushed at the idea and then she listened to him. She laughed a bit as she spoke, "I said I try t keep it simple. I never said that it was easy or always possible. A lot of my current situations prevent that." He said he was in the Order, did he not? She ran the Order. She certainly must know this person. She gave a small smile and then she spoke, "I am also part of the Order that must be how I recognize you."
She listened to him speak and then smiled a bit as she looked to him and spoke, "Well, that is a very curageous thing for someone to do. It could put lives at risk. I do love my significant other, but I would not want to risk our lives and the lives of others if we were caught."

Rose smiled. "Why, thank you." Rose said, taking another sip of her butterbeer. At least this boy was nice, but then again he could simply be thinking she was someone really important...well she was actually but he might be thinking she was someone else. Her eyes drifted away from him to scan the room. She knew it was useless because of the spell, but she couldn't help it. She loved Scorpius, and she didn't want to let him go...ever. She didn't want to know what he was doing actually. She would let him have his fun in peace.
"Let's go tonight." Rose said, bitting her lip then admitting. "In truth I haven't been to them either. I've just heard a lot about them. I never really could make it, and didn't get an invite. Maybe tonight I'll sneak in with some of the other students." Rose smiled at him sweetly, not wanting him to feel ashamed. She knew that feeling very well, and she didn't want others having the 'pleasure' of that emotion. It was just a friendly smile anyway...

Scorpius smiled back at Jean. "You're welcome." He took another sip of his pumpkin juice, noticing that it tasted strange. It's probably spiked, he thought. Pretty much has to be by now. This girl was really nice, but he couldn't help wondering what Rose was doing. Finally, he forced her out of his mind. She was probably with some other boy, dancing, and he didn't want to know about it. He was unhappy that he had to let her out of his arms for even one night.
He was Head Boy, for crying out loud! It irked him that he couldn't wear his badge tonight, but that would be a dead giveaway. But Scorpius was proud of that fact, and anyways, he wore it with pride the rest of the time. Nodding, he said, "Sure. But don't you want to go with your boyfriend?" Laughing, he added, "I'm just guessing, but you keep scanning the crowd like a woman on a mission, and you're too pretty not to be taken."
Was it too much? He hoped not. Merlin only knew what Rose would say if she found him flirting, or thought he was flirting. Scorpius added, "Like I said, I've never been to one, either. I've gotten invites, but until this year, I never had anyone to go with. Parties are no fun all by your lonesome."

Teddy smiled again. "Pat Bentar, huh? Cool. I love Muggle music, which artists do you enjoy?" Finally, he had someone to talk Muggle music with. He wasn't sure if Victorie liked it or not...usually when they were together, they were busy or doing other...things. "I listen to whatever strikes my mood at the time, but I have a few artists I know a lot of songs by."
He blamed it on his father, this love of Muggle music. His dad was a werewolf, and a half-blood as well. His mum was a pureblood, but she listened to a lot of it too. And then there was his mum's dad, his grandfather, who was a Muggle. Teddy had spent a lot of time over there while his parents fought in the war against Lord Voldemort, and ultimately cast his mother her life. But his grandfather had told him of a lot of Muggle things, and he was sure he could pass for one if necessary. He shrugged. "That is true. Perhaps in private, then."

Vic laughed a bit as she spoke, "I am about the same. I jsut listen to whatever fits my mood. I tend to have a fairly odd mood most the time. I take well to the alternative music that is really popular right nwo. A lot of it doesn't have any sense, and I like that. It isn'ts another thing that makes you think too much." Victorie was glad she made this man realize that he could hurt his significant other by just doing it. She knew that was what was important the safety of others.

Teddy nodded at Molly's words, lost in thought. He loved such Muggle artists as Elton John and Eminem. He spoke this last bit aloud to her and added, "I concur. Music should be carefree, and not make you think. You should just be able to relax and go with it. And I love alternative music as well, as well as heavy metal.” He was glad Molly had made him see the light. By kissing Victorie under the fireworks, even though it would be romantic, he would put both their lives at risk. Better to do so in private.
