Please either have the roleplay on this board, or create one in the Great Hall. What it looks like... All the tables in the put away for the evening. In the back right corner, there are refreshments and food. The pumpkin juice may or may not be spiked yet, but it sure will be by eleven o' clock. The ball starts at nine so be here on time. The ceiling shows a cloudless night sky with the occasional shooting star. At midnight when everyone takes off their mask fireworks will look like their going off and if you head off into the gardens you can watch them for real. You can go into the gardens, they are also decorated with little spots of light floating around over your head. Just try not to get lost. The ball ends at one o clock and everyone must be returned to their common rooms by one thirty unless their on the clean up crew then they must be there by two o clock. No classes the next day since it's Sunday.

Rosetta Jean Weasley had finally made a permanent decision to go to the Halloween Mask Ball. Well, it would be permanent once she got into the Great Hall. Her heart was pounding from the mixture of excitement and her own nervousness. She was afraid to look in the full length mirror that had been placed inside her room. Would she look like an utter disaster? Her hands made fists, her eyes closing, she turned around to the mirror behind her.
Slowly, she opened her eyes and gasped. She did not look like herself at all. Her usual self at least. Her usual self was either in uniform, jeans, or something casual. At the moment, she was in a silk dress she had found in her grandparents attic once. After she had cleaned it, the silk had a pearly white color to it and it brought out the blue in her eyes and red of her hair.
The dress was like a swan, with a slightly low cleavage but nothing too inappropriate. From her cleavage there was a material that looked like long elegant feathers with gold outlining and there were no shoulders just simply fell into silk sleeves that made a v over the top of her hand. The dress fell to her ankles, the feeling of the dress nice against her shaved legs. Rose did a circle and the bottom of the dress fanned out just a bit to show that she could leap and still the dress would stay like water down her legs.
Rose was wearing gold looking heels. Her toes were covered, but after her toes were covered it was like sandles that were holding the shoe on her feet. The straps tied around her ankles and the heel was only a half inch high so Rose didn't have to worry too much about falling flat on her face due to heels. The heels also didn't cut into her skin, but instead when she put them on they magically fit perfectly onto her foot. People had to love magic...
Rose's hair was in ringlets, something she had spent a good hour finding the spell to do.Then she had gathered some of the ringlets and magically held them there while there were still some framing her face and falling past her shoulders. She had just barely outlined her eyes, but left everything else natural as she placed the swan mask over her face and sealed it to stay on till she took it off. The mask was pearl, just like her dress, and was made to flat feathers were going out. Her two eye holes were large enough not to block any view that she used to have.
Casting a quick invisibility charm on herself, Rose made her escape from the Head's Common Room. She hadn't seen Scorpius, and was quite glad she hadn't. If she had, she would have stopped dead in her tracks and been gravitating towards him the entire night. She was delighted that the ball was anonymous, maybe this night she could keep her mind away from his beautiful eyes, silky hair...and muscled body that made her...Rose shut the door softly behind her, pushing her thoughts of Scorpius out so she could try and enjoy the evening.
Rosetta removed her charm as she neared the Great Hall. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach and she almost felt sick. As she stopped before turning to go down the staircase to the Entrance Hall, she stopped and took three deep breathes. 'Your a Gryffindor , Rosie. Be brave, be fearless. If you make a mistake, at least no one will know it was you.' She took one last deep breathe, then slowly went down the stairs, and into the Great Hall.

No one could say Lily Luna Potter was a coward, because if you could see what she was wearing you'd never believe it was her. She had taken the Masked ball to a whole new level when she had heard about it. She had been slightly put out that she had to show up with no date, but she didn't mind, she was just happy to be able to go in the first place.
'Well this is going to be great...I wonder what Rose will ware? Probably something that has little to be desired.' Lily thought as she shuddered at the thought of her cousin arriving in a bubblegum pink flat dress with puffy sleeves and her hair down and limp, her mask little more then a Gray paper mask.
As she finished curling her hair even more then it always was she chuckled. 'Rose may not have much of a fashion since but she would never show up like that...would she?' She thought before turning around and looking in the mirror. She smirked and twirled, perfection..thy name is Lily.
Lily stood in front of the mirror, her short 5'3, 5'4 body was standing about 5'7 thanks to the 3 1/2 inch crystal clear heals and the Emerald green gown hugged her chest, pushing her petite breast up, and her chest was clear as day from about three inches above the breast up. The dress was tight until just above her waist where it slit down the left side, just below her thigh and even though it wasn't as fluffy as most it still stuck out and didn't stick to her legs like she knew some less desirable girls' dress would.
Her dress has no sleeves as stated before and her arms were encased in elbow length dark violet silk gloves and her neck was decorated with a pendent that had a large round Violet coloured stone with little tiny emeralds around the edges. Her hair was in springy curls and held up with a butterfly hair clip and sitting on the crown of her head was a tiara with Violet and Emerald stones, it was noticeable but wasn't as flashy as you'd think. She smiled as two springy curls lay at the side of her eyes, but not touching her skin, like they were defying gravity. Her make up was a smoky violet and silver and her lips were coted lightly in light pink lip gloss and her mask was held up by a invisible elastic string that connected to the back of her head just above her hair line were her bun started. It was common, covering her eyes and the bridge of her nose, its sides were like swirls that rested on her cheek bone and temple, and the eye-holes were just wide enough for her brown eyes to see everything.
'I think I have outdone myself.' Lily thought before grabing a crystal clear transparent shawl that matched her shoes and headed out of the common room, passing by some red haired girl in a white dress, it was very beautiful but she couldn't place who the girl was. As she followed the girl out she head ahead of her and entered the great hall. This was going to be interesting.

Victorie was born into a world where getting dressed up was never a aspect that one should take lightly or without an ease and air of aristocracy to it. So, for the night this professor's pink highlights were gone and hidden by the magical whims that they knew so well. It was a flick of the wrist and victorie's nartural hair color stood out through and over all of the pink that had been instered with a Muggle hair dye. Victorie looked in the mirror before she began to get ready and mumbled, mostly to herself, "Well, no one will recognize me." She flitted her fingers through her hair and then turned. Once she did turn she saw a simply made French gown hanging on the back of the door way. Next to that on a chair sat her gold shoes, mask, white gloves, and a few other accessories. Victorie could only laugh as she looked at it all and thought about her world. It was so different then what people knew her as. This Keeper could get dressed up as nicely as those girls that went flitting about despite her t-shirt days and muddy jeans. Victorie stepped towards the things and jsut ran her hands over the silken fabric. She then turned to the mirror again with a stubborn look as if magic couldn't do her bidding. Victorie picked up her wand and turned it to her hair. With a few words it began to curl itself into a french bun and then let loose curls hang from it. It was elaborate and would make up for any missing details that the dress would turn even more elegant. Speaking of the dress Vic wasted no time pulling it over her head and letting the tight bodice fit across her chest as she zipped the back quickly and moved to add on her shoes, long white gloves, and then look in the mirror once more. She wondered if Teddy would recognize her. She let out a igh and then saw the nacklace she'd had on. It was one Teddy had given her years ago that was gold and had a small broom on it. She slipped it off knowing she couldn't wear it around her neck tonight or she'd be recognized. So, she wrapped the chain around her wrist on the outside of her glove and then clipped it to be sure it was going to stay on. She then smiled as she tied her mask and it's ribbons into her hair and then twirled before the mirror. She smiled knowing that this was going to be a wonderful night. Victorie did a few last minute touch ups and then walked out of her room. She walked carefully down the stairs and then to the Great Hall. Once she was there she gave a few nods to some eyes that wandered over to her. She then stepped into the GReat Hall with the intentions of doing all the chaperoning that she was needed to do. If she had a bit of fun along the way, then would would there be to stop her? Even after Victorie did all that work to hide anything that would make her recognizeable, there was one thing she forgot. Victorie forgot to hide her birthmark on the back of her shoulder, so family and a few select others would recognize the woman by the small little red heart on the back of her shoulder.

Rosetta Weasley felt the muscles inside her body tighten into nervousness as she looked over the Great Hall. The committee has done a magnificent job getting everything reading, and now that everything was finished she could let her mind wander to other things that should be left untouched that night. At least for that night. That night was for fun...or for finding the truth if she was willing to try.
Rose did know she was by far not the most beautiful girl there. Several girls looked completely dashing in their gowns, their eyes matching or nicely contrasting their dresses to bring out their best features. What to do if you hadn't any best feature? Well, you just had to make due. Rose was very proud of herself for walking without stumbling as she made her way to the table of refreshments. She had wanted to get her butterbeer before any of the other students had spiked it, because she knew that was at least on one of their minds tonight.
Rose barely let the cup touch her lips as she tipped it forward to drain into her mouth. She was just glad her clumsy hands didn't make the butterbeer spill down her shirt, so she concentrated just on that until she thought it was safe to walk to a table, claim it, and set her cup down. She leaned her hip against the table, only a few chairs gathered around but none had been pulled out so far. She looked over the Great Hall once more, the tension in her body slowly slipping away. The beginning and ending was always the toughest, in Rose's opinion, of the event. You could tell what people wanted in the Great Hall and see either excitement or disappointment and try and make the even the greatest of the year at the beginning, then cleaning up everyone's mess at the end, as well as making sure everyone made it to their dorms.

Heath couldn't believe himself. He was going to the bloody ball, but in truth he had nothing else to do. The greenhouses were closed, most people would be at this event, and it wasn't very fun sitting in a chair staring out the window at the moon that traumatized his still aching bones. Two nights before had been the full moon, some of the scratches were still on his arm and he had a bruise on his forehead. Did he ever mention to anyone that he hated the first week after his transformation? Perhaps not, but they all seemed to know to stay away from him well enough.
Dressed completely in black, Heath didn't take one glance in the mirror to know he should brush his locks. It was a formal enough event that he would do his best to be...presentable. His attire though, was something old from a secondhand store he had found once. It was quite comfortable, considering a good portion of it was leather. Anywhere that would rub a rash into his skin, was a leather look alike that didn't cause irritation. Also, the long sleeves were a dark cloth that was noticeably different from the rest of his 'costume'. Leather gloves covered the marks on his hands, and he tightened them as he made a fist with his hands.
Heath quickly brushed most of the tangles out of his hair, then looked at the cloak that came with his clothing. Would he grab it, or not? Well, might as well fully indulge in his last Hogwart's ball, or were the Head's planning something else for the remainder of the year? He quickly grabbed his cloak and tied it around his neck as he made his way out the door.
Heath walked smoothly through the halls, his black mask covering his forehead down to his nose, two hole left out for his eyes. The mask hadn't come with it, but instead an extra from one of his dorm mates. Perhaps he would be caught, but he was planning on leaving before he had to take off the bloody mask in the first place so perhaps not. Finally, Heath had found the Great Hall, so lost in his thoughts he immediately just stepped inside without thought and looked around for something interesting to do.

Theodore Remus Lupin was in his room in front of a full-length mirror. He kept changing his hair color, trying to decide what would go best with his simple black tux. First it was orange, than pink, then turquoise, than black. Finally, his face brightened and he changed it to a deep purple that looked black unless the light hit it right. To complete his outfit, he wore a simple purple mask that only covered the eyes and the nose.
Teddy's tux may have been black, but his shirt was a pale lavender. His dress shoes were black, and he had a purple orchid in his right breast pocket. For decoration, you understand. He had finally decided not to make his hair color too funky on the grounds that he would be recognized. Deciding he was a done as he was going to get, he headed out to the Great Hall to help chaperone the ball. He wondered if Vikki would recognize him.
As he left his room, he was thinking of Victorie and their conversation earlier. Pushing that depressing subject from his mind, he entered the Great Hall and drifted over to a pretty girl with blonde hair in a French gown. She was beautiful, but he couldn't place who she was. He held out his hand. "Dance, madam?" he asked, surprised at how his voice sounded.

Post by Scorpius Malfoy on Oct 13, 2009 21:21:37 GMT -5
Scorpius Draco Malfoy stood in front of a mirror in the dungeons. He twirled around, pleased with how he looked. White-blond hair fell into his light gray eyes as he did so. He was wearing a black tux that set off his hair perfectly. Underneath it, he wore a silver shirt. Black high-top boots came up over the tux pants to his knees, and the whole thing was custom-made to his body.
Over his face he wore a silver mask that, like his shirt, seemed to sparkle in the light. It covered only his eyes. Black leather gloves, like the kind ladies wore, covered his hands and arms to complete his outfit. Again, they were form-fitting to his arms and made of the softest leather. He also smelled of coconut from head to toe. Tonight was a special night. and he had a red rose tucked into his breast pocket. Free of thorns, of course. At midnight, he would find his Rose and present to her as they kissed under the fireworks.
Leaving the dungeons, his thoughts were on Rose as he walked. That soft, curvy body, that long red hair...it might be possible to tell who she was just by the hair alone. Then again, Lily had the Weasley red hair as well so maybe not. And then there was Hugo. Scorpius scoffed. What kind of name is Hugo anyways? he thought. Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the doors and entered the Great Hall, heading for the refreshment table.

Victorie was wandering and keeping her eyes upon the children as she moved through the crowd. She felt a small tap on her should and an offer to dance. She didn't recognize the voice. She wondered who it was. Thinds were nor going as they were supposd to. She was supposed to be here in love with Teddy. She gave the guy a small smile and then moved to take his hand. She gave a little grin she then easily slipped into the dance with him. She felt comfortable in this man's arms and she wondered who he was. She took a deep breath as she knew there wasa small baby forming within her. She hoped it wasn't obvious.

Rose drained her small cup and quickly refilled it, not wanting to get drunk but just wanting to be more relaxed. She swayed slightly with the music, laughing softly as her red ringlets tickled the side of her face. She was glad everything turned out nicely. Closing her eyes, Rose let her mind wander to sights she wished would happen. She could imagine how amazing Scorpius would look, his hair perfect and clothes fitting just right and looking liking really expensive. His father only bought Scorpius the best, of course.
Opening her eyes again, she surveyed the crowd. She could tell many people had changed their normal hair color with a glamor spell. Some had platinum blond hair, and she had to wonder if one of those were Scorpius or not, there was a girl with a shade or purple hair, and even many more redheads then there were in Hogwarts. Sighing, she made a toast to the students already dancing and finished yet another glass with a wry smile. The students really had made an effort to look different then they were, and had expected everyone else to do the same. It was a great guise to just stay the same, or at least Rose thought so.

Scorpius spotted a redheaded girl by the refreshment table and had to wonder if it was Rose. So many people had changed their natural hair color, it was hard to tell. The girl was wearing a pearl-white silk dress, and looked stunning. He shook his head. He was supposed to be in love with Rosetta, and what were the odds that this was her?
He ran a hand through his white-blond hair and supposed he should have changed it. It really was a giveaway. Ah well, too late now, he supposed. Scorpius decided to ask the girl to dance. After all, it was a ball. Draining his cup of pumpkin juice, he tapped the girl on the shoulder. "Excuse me, but may I have this dance?" His voice was neither high nor low. It just...was, yet he did not sound like him.
As he waited, he scanned the crowd in vain, looking for his love. He could just imagine how beautiful she would look. A beautiful dress, a fancy hairdo...Yep, Scorpius Malfoy had caught the love bug, and was quickly falling hard. Rose was beautiful in any situation, but this ball would bring out the best in her and Lily.

As the girl accepted his invitation, Teddy took her into his arms and began to sway to the music. Back and forth they danced, around and around. He spun her once before dipping her. Pulling her back up, he let her go as the song ended. He bowed and said, "Thank you. You are a most excellent dancer." Then he headed to the refreshment table, ready for a butterbeer. As he drank, he scanned the crowd for a blonde that resembled Victorie, but it was useless. There was too many people.

The way he moved was so eloquent.....so much like him. She moved with him and then he left her with some nice words and she pouted. She thought he would have realizeed that it was her when he pressed her against him like that. It felt right...too right to bee anyone else. Victorie smiled as she came behidn him and rubbed his shouldeer a bit as shee whispered in his eear, "Leaving mee so soon?"

Rose blinked and looked at the boy for a quick second. He had the same blond hair as Scorpius, but he could have glamored it that way. It didn't mean he was Scorpius. Not wanting to be rude, she smiled and nodded with a soft, "Yes, I would love to." She said, hoping he heard her. Looking behind him, she tried to see the people who were entering the Great Hall. Her partner, sort of, was busy scanning the crowd as well so she might as well take advantage.
The blond in front of her wore an black tux, the shirt inside a dazzling silver. His mask was also silver, one that drew her to his gray eyes. Blond hair, gray eyes...Her head suddenly went into a slight fog. Taking one last sip of her pumpkin juice, she set it down and smiled at him. Rose smiled at the boy, her previous thoughts about him clouded. She made sure she could find out which drink was hers when she was finished dancing.

Teddy turned around to find the blonde he had danced with behind him. He smiled and said to her, "Why madam, so nice to see you again. Care to have a drink with me?" As she rubbed his shoulder, he gently removed her hand. "My good lady, I have a girlfriend. But thank you. That felt good."
As they turned, he noticed a small birthmark on the back of her shoulder. It was shaped like a red heart. Like Victoire's....His mind suddenly felt foggy, but that was probably due to the butterbeer being spiked. Teenagers, he thought with a smile. He waited for the girl to have a seat before sitting himself.
((We can't find out who everyone is until midnight. That's why Teddy doesn't recognize her. Magic is preventing it.))
